marcia, marcia, marcia! | syracuse portrait photographer

It truly is a small world here in Syracuse.

It all started with Allison & Nick's 2010 wedding and then a blog post from a small road trip to MacKenzie-Childs the following spring where I took a few photos of a Designer Showcase tabletop being featured there. Shortly after posting the photos from MacKenzie-Childs, I received an email from an interior designer introducing herself and letting me know she loved the photos I took of her tabletop. After a few emails back and forth, I found out she was the Aunt of my bride Allison and the talented interior designer of Interiors by Marcia Philipp. Fast forward to 2013 and Tracy & Mike's wedding. Guess what? Marcia is also Tracy's aunt! This is where I finally met Marcia in person and saw Allison & Nick again.

Anyway, all of this leads to my shoot this past November with Marcia for Houzz where she is featured as a Pro.

Thank you Marcia for a fun morning and getting to know you!

Tori / Cazenovia Senior Photography

The senior season has begun and the most recent session was with Tori from Cazenovia High School.  She just wanted the simple package, but I got her to go outside for a few quick natural light shots and they are great.  Her mom just bought the cool shirt she is wearing from New Paltz and it was perfect for her and her style.  She has just the most beautiful skin! Thanks Tori!  Can't wait to edit the rest and get your proofbook to you!

Bella and a little berry / Syracuse Children's Photography

Last week I had a fun little shoot with Miss Bella who I actually photographed 3 years ago when she was just 1.  Though she has grown, she still has the same little faces and great spunky little personality.  She showed me her berries, a birdbath with a little slug in it that she then proceeded to give a bath to with the hose.  I'm sure the poor little slug was thrilled. Anyway, here are a few I quickly picked out of the lot to share.

Thank you Miss Bella!

As with all children, they dictate how they session begins. Their way!

her favorite rock

Still on her rock

we were on the rock for awhile

Finally off to the berries

Near the end of the session waiting for us to say "fly away!"

Fly away!

A Farewell Shoot...

Last week I had my farewell session with a family that I have been photographing since 2003 and have since become friends with.  Being that Father's Day is approaching, they thought it would be neat to do one last session here before they move to Nashville this summer as a surprise to their dad.  I think we are all in denial they are leaving.  I look at these and realize that time goes fast.  I began to run through my head all the other sessions we had in either the warm summer months where we took our time, or the Christmas card shoots in 15-20 degree weather by the infamous tree in their yard that literally lasted only moments because we were all freezing!  I smile at the memories.  Here are a few from the shoot that made me smile. I will miss all of you, as we all will.  I will also never look at the tree in the same way....
