thank you! I finger lakes wedding photographer

Once again, I would like to thank all my couples from the 2009 season!

My season began on a sunny March day with Beth & Brian and ended on a cold winter's night in December with Meghan & Andy.

Whether it was putting an entire wedding party in and around a vintage VW Bus at Hobbit Hollow or having a bride catch a football and stand like the Heisman Trophy at Fall Brook in Oswego, I cannot thank you enough for letting me be who I am behind the camera, and capturing who you are.  Thank you for all the countless spur of the moment craziness and letting me get away with "are you game/seat of your pants" ideas!  I really enjoyed being a part of your wedding day and capturing every moment for you to keep and cherish for the rest of your lives.  I smile as I look back at the photographs and realize how incredibly fortunate I am that all of you came into my life.  It is because of you and all my other fabulous clients that I always look forward to a new day behind the lens.  I love what I do and you make it happen.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

These photos are the covers of the proofbooks.

suzanne + ted I skaneateles, ny wedding photographer

Finally catching up with my blog posts!

Suzanne and Ted were married on November 7th at The Lodge here in Skaneateles.  A first ever for me was photographing the rehearsal one hour before the actual ceremony!  The wedding was beautiful, the toasts touching and the party raged until the wee hours of the night with the great sounds of Brass Taxi.

So, Suzanne and Ted, thank you for a really nice evening and I am so happy you love your photos!

meghan + andy I syracuse wedding photographer

Well, I'm back and I have decided to start with my most recent wedding and work backwards!

Meghan and Andy exchanged vows on December 19th in a small intimate ceremony with their families and friends surrounding them.  I was glad to have Erica with me to capture every possible moment.  As you will see in the photos Andy is a proud Marine who has served our country in Iraq and just returned from a tour in Afghanistan.  To be honest I don't think I can find the right words to express how lucky I was to capture their wedding.  So, I will write what Meghan and Andy wrote on the little cards that were on each table next to little blue candles.

"When you light this candle, please think of the Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen fighting for our freedom, their families and loved ones who are patiently waiting on the home front, and those who have paid the ultimate price for freedom.  We will forever carry these heroes in our hearts, may this light shine on for them."

Thank you Meghan and Andy for letting me and Erica slip into your world that night to capture cherished moments that will last you both a lifetime.

kristy + jason l skaneateles, ny wedding

Kristy and Jason exchanged vows here in Skaneateles on a beautiful October day .  I started the day with the boys and then headed to Kristy's parent's house where all the girls were getting ready.   This was very cool for me since I have known Kristy since she was about 11 years old.  I remember when her family moved in across the street from us.  Time flies, and I was so happy when she and Jason asked me to capture their wedding.  After the ceremony we walked through the Village to the lake for some photos and then hopped on a boat to the Skaneateles Country Club where all their guests were waiting for them to arrive and start the party.

That they did.

Thank you Kristy and Jason.

What a fun day and evening I had with you and your families!

After the beautiful ceremony, I followed Margaret and Michael and their wedding party to Fallbrook for some photographs and fun.  Margaret even threw a football around with some guys who playing around.  I just love this couple and their playfulness.

Thank you Margaret and Michael.  I truly enjoyed my time with you, your families, and friends.  Even Father Cesta.  I wish he would be at every wedding I did!!

Finally catching up and very excited to post a few from Abby and Peyton's September 19th wedding at the Dewitt Community Church with the reception following at the Onondaga Country Club. It was a deja vu for me since I photographed Abby's sister Carrie's wedding just a few years ago.  I adore this family and was so happy to be back!

kerrie & ben I skaneateles lake engagement session

A couple of weeks ago my very cool friend Andrea Casey had to come out for an engagement session with Kerrie & Ben who are getting married next July here in Skaneateles.  Being that Andrea moved to Saratoga this past summer I jumped at the chance to spend some time with her and to meet Kerrie and Ben.  They are awesome ( Andrea just loves you), and it was especially great to play with Andrea again.  Andrea we need to get you some good water shoes so that you can go into the lake!  I wish we could work together all of the time!!!! Looking forward to capturing Kerrie and Ben's wedding with you next summer.

Susie + Joe I The Lodge I Skaneateles, NY

Susie and Joe were married August 29th in Fayetteville, NY with the reception following at The Lodge in Skaneateles.  Let me just say something that I have noticed the past few years.  Everytime I photograph a wedding where the couple is from Fayetteville-Manlius, I know I am in for a wild ride and Susie and Joe's was no exception!  What a great couple, great wedding party and great families.  Even the guest who sang Margaritaville from Jimmy Buffett and whose shoe hit my head as he "kicked off his flip flops" was great! Thank you Susie & Joe.  I really, really had a great time and can't wait to edit the rest of your wedding.  In the meantime, here are a few I quickly pulled out of the lot!  Also, there is no way any of you belong in right field! Still laughing at all the toasts!

Megan + Ryan I Hobbit Hollow I Skaneateles, NY

On August 1st, Megan and Ryan tied the knot here in Skaneateles with the reception at the awesome Hobbit Hollow.  I just love that spot with all the hills and beautiful scenery.  It makes for just a stunning backdrop for a beautiful wedding and couple.  And, on top of that all the detail with the signs and flowers were amazing.  Just love the flowers from Thea Folls.  I really love the simplicity of her little works of art! What a wonderful and fun wedding it was Megan and Ryan!  Thank you for everything!

I am shooting Alison and Nick's wedding next May and we got together a few weeks ago while they were in town for an engagement session.  We started at the Sherwood Inn and then headed to Anyela's Vineyards for some wine tasting.  Nick and Alison are wine lovers and they thought that would be a neat place to have some fun. Thank you Alison and Nick.  It was a great time and I am looking forward to your wedding next year!!

Rachel + Alex / Sherwood Inn Wedding

Last month Rachel and Alex were married in a cute little ceremony on the lawn of the Sherwood Inn with the reception immediately following inside.  I started with the guys in the morning as they got ready to play 9 holes of golf before the wedding.  I later met Rachel and her girls at the Sherwood Inn as they got ready. What a great wedding and thankfully those big dark clouds held off and everything was great!

Thank you Rachel and Alex.  It was truly a wonderful time!

Magdalena , Gareth and kilts! / Hendericks Chapel Wedding

Magdalena and Gareth were married June 6th in Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University, and my friend and fellow photographer Andrea Casey and I had an absolute ball capturing their wedding.  Being that Magdalena's family is from Poland and Gareth's from Scotland we had lots of fun with all the family members who traveled from both Poland and Scotland.  You just have to love it!  The kilts were wild and all the detail such as the knives they had in their socks were great to photograph. Thank you Magdalena and Gareth for a wonderful day and evening.  We truly enjoyed ourselves!

Thank you Andrea for helping out!  I love working with you.

Susie & Joe's engagement session in Cazenovia

Being that Susie and Joe were in town taking care of  wedding details for their upcoming big day in August, we decided to get together in Cazenovia for their engagement session.  We started at Lorenzo Historical Site and then worked our way to the lake for a few shots before taking a little stroll along Cazenovia's main street.  Being that it was a beautiful warm day and we had been walking around for quite a bit, we decided we were quite thirsty and stopped at The Brae Loch Inn for a quick pint.  Joe loved the fact that a beer was part of the session! Thank you Susie and Joe, I really enjoyed the session and look forward to the wedding!!
